Samadhi
The ultimate goal of Yoga — complete absorption and union with the Divine.
Samadhi is the eighth and final limb of Maharishi Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga — the state of complete absorption where the meditator, the act of meditation, and the object of meditation merge into one. In this state, individual consciousness dissolves into universal consciousness. The Rishis described multiple levels of Samadhi: Savikalpa (with thought), Nirvikalpa (without thought), and Sahaja (natural, permanent). Samadhi is not achieved by effort alone — it is a grace that arises from sustained and sincere practice.

Patanjali describes Samprajnata (conscious) and Asamprajnata (super-conscious) Samadhi in the first Pada.
